Steve or Ramana? Gates or Mooji? Musk or Anantaji?
“My greatest fear is that my mind will stop working..” - Bill Gates, Inside Bill’s Brain - Netflix Series
We all have role models that inspire & provide a sense of direction, focus and ambition. I have quite a few. Being passionate about advertising, Sir Martin Sorrel was one of the very first. Throughout my entrepreneurial life Steve Jobs has been an inspiration - there was this whole notion of not just building a business but creating a “dent in the universe”. The list continues - Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Narayana Murthy, Ratan Tata, Jeff Bezos and more.
While my intention is not to trivialize their achievement - the question is - was there a point when they looked back and said - aha achieved, now I’m done.
Going back to Bill’s fear - one day the time will come for the mind to stop working, death is inevitable. So, is there a definite goal? Or purpose? The path just seems to keep extending - through lifetimes perhaps.
But there seems to be an answer - right here right now - inside you!
Ramana, Mooji, Anantaji, spiritual masters and scriptures of all religions have pointed & showed (in multiple ways) - that there is only the “Now” and you are that “Now”. You are not living life, you are life! In an instant you shift from a “person” to “presence”. From being a spec in the universe to the universe being in you!
While life will not stop, you realize you are already where you need to be. It makes life a celebration - not a burden, takes away the fear.
“Before enlightenment chopping wood; After enlightenment chopping wood, but no wood chopper”- Zen quote.
In conclusion, it is Steve & Ramana!

Interesting fact: The only book in Steve Jobs iPad was "Autobiography of a Yogi" and that was the book given to guests at his memorial function.
