The Chaithanya Diaries :) #1 - From Vinod to Chaithanya

On August 18th, 2017, I added “Chaithanya” to my name. Since then, friends have been asking me - Who is this Chaithanya? I’ve been responding selectively to the ones who have asked, that, it was the name given to me by my Guru. I’ve seen all types of reactions to this, but frankly, it doesn’t matter.

As more friends keep asking me, I feel the need arising to share the full story. Because, with my Guru’s grace, I have discovered the most significant treasure one can ever find in our lives and I want to share it with my friends and loved ones.

The discovery was amazing! All of a sudden - from being a person called Vinod living in this world, I discovered that I am life itself - everything is me. And it includes the appearance of this person Vinod, who I thought I was. The reason we remain trapped in the world of Samsara! The person Vinod was born and will die, but the real me is timeless, infinite & immortal!

When you "see" this, you break free. You are reborn. Same world, same problems, but now you enjoy the game, whatever the score because you know you are the one playing and having fun!

This treasure is always here for every being. It is all there is! Some call it Brahmanand, enlightenment, God, the atheist will call it self-discovery and the Buddhist call it Zen. The Worldly play goes on - up & down, left & right, joy & sorrow, birth & death. But you, the real you, is not the one you think you are. You are that one who is watching from behind those eyes. And that one is always here, in every sentient being, and is the only ONE that is there! And, this is discoverable right now where you are. And you are THAT. Tattvamasi! You “are” that - you need not “become” it. So powerful is the message in the scriptures of all religions and teachings of the realized masters!

The significance of accepting the name given by the Guru is a mark of respect & surrender to your Guru, who has helped give birth to the real you! As I conclude this story, I pray that you also find your Guru to lead you to your true Self!
